#31: Bill McEwen, Piano

Bill performs a programme of his own original compositions.

'I am a piano teacher and composer of piano music from Mid Sussex . I discovered the piano when I was about four years old. We moved house and inherited a piano. I fell in love with the sound of the instrument. Thankfully I am still besotted. By the time my father relented and allowed me to have piano lessons, I had taught myself to play by ear and improvise. These are vital musical skills that I encourage my pupils to work at. My teaching practice is very rewarding. I can inspire the younger generations to experience the same joy that has stayed with me since those early days are long time ago.' Bill McEwen
