Sarah Carvalho-Dubost
Sarah Carvalho-Dubost began playing the cello in Paris and also studied singing in the Maîtrise de Radio-France. She obtained the First Prize of Paris for cello in 1998, the First Prize of Chamber Music in 1999 and the First Prize in Music Theory in 2000.
After focusing on the cello, she won a full Scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music of London with Leonid Gorokhov. She graduated with a PGdip with Honors in Solo Performance in 2004.
Sarah is a founding member of Ensemble Reza and loves playing chamber music with them. She also performs with Solona Trio and Duo.
Sarah teaches cello privately and in schools including Burgess Hill Girls, Great Walstead and Ardingly College. She is the director of Pro Corda Primary Chamber Music Residentail courses and also teaches on the Cello Courses.
Since 2010, Sarah has been committed to the ‘Music for Life’ workshops, run by the Wigmore Hall outreach team. These workshops for people with dementia are a part of her professional life that is very close to Sarah’s heart.
