Hannah Carter, Managing Director
My passion for music started at an early age, inspired at playgroup run by two professional musicians. Growing up in a very remote Somerset village with an active music scene, the value of community music has always remained an important focus in my life.
Since leaving Somerset over thirty years ago I have followed my musical passion, first studying music at Kingston University and then an MA in Arts Management at City University.
Throughout my life I have pursued my dream career working in classical music and highlights have included working for the music publisher Faber Music and then for the London based Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia 21. Following a career break to bring up three children, I set-up the group Ensemble Reza, in 2013 with founding members Pavlos Carvalho, Sarah Carvalho-Dubost and Andrew Thurgood. This has been an amazing journey and I feel very privileged to be part of such a special team.
In my spare time I enjoy singing with local Cuckfield Choir, The Singing Allsorts, playing my cello with Horsham Symphony Orchestra and smaller chamber groups and can sometimes be found accompanying my children (always badly!) on the piano!
To relax, I love our family time and cooking tasty meals for all the family and of course our friends and nothing beats an early morning dog walk in the beautiful Sussex countryside.
