Beautiful Bassoons

Not one, not two but three bassoons at today’s lunchtime concert in Broadfield! We were treated to a very English programme, in honour of St George’s Day. Rosie, Susana and Laura performed Teddy’s Bear’s Picnic, a Mozart Divertimento and several pieces by Duncan Stubbs. It was a lovely treat to be serenaded by the rich, mellow tones of this beautiful instrument and the audience really enjoyed the various anecdotes between pieces.

Next month it’s the turn of the clarinets. Steve Dummer and Laurie Cuttriss will be performing clarinet duets at the Broadfield lunchtime concert on Wednesday 28th May.
