Vivacious perfection

The Methodist Church in Haywards Heath was bathed in glorious sunlight for today’s lunchtime concert which unusually featured two clarinets. Reza’s longtime friend, the ever vivacious Steve Dummer, paired with Laurence Cuttriss to perform clarinet duos for our delectation. After the first piece by Anton Stadler, Steve commented that he was used to having short breaks when accompanied by piano, but that there was nowhere to hide today!

Steve and Laurence kept us completely transfixed throughout the programme, which spanned Poulenc, Trivia by local composer John Hawkins and finished with Views of the Blues by Gordon Lewin.

Steve will be joining the Reza band again on Friday 25th April in Lindfield for ‘Paris to Havana.’ Do come along for a wonderful evening of jazz, swing and global tunes.
