Disney film music scores a hit!

From six players for tango on Saturday night to a cast of hundreds for Disney on Sunday. Reza’s phenomenal community orchestra, conducted by the effervescent Steve Dummer, was joined for two concerts of Disney classics by Sarah Rolph and her wonderful Sing, Choirs for Children. The performances resulted in standing ovations from both audiences and were a reminder of how powerful music can be, regardless of age. Richard Light, one of the community orchestra’s longest-standing members wrote:

‘I enjoyed the concerts yesterday. I would say that the music the Community Orchestra plays is gradually getting more challenging, but I felt that our flute section managed to come up with the goods - even getting the trickier fast runs right! There are lots of very competent players in the orchestra - not just the Reza professionals - which I think is very helpful to the players who are just starting out with their instrument, or rediscovering it after some years of not playing. It was fun playing a Disney selection - and it gave me a perfect excuse to wear my Jungle Book waistcoat!’
