Creative Music-Making Workshop

Project outline:

Returning to schools who had been involved in our schools concerts or in previous projects, these workshops are an opportunity to start building and develop musical learning through interactive singing, dancing and percussion.  These sessions are led by our workshop team: Pavlos Carvalho, Anna Cooper and Sarah Carvalho Dubost playing a range of instruments including: violin, piano accordion, guitar, Greek bouzouki & double bass.

Projects aims to include:

  • To develop basic music making skills and musical vocabulary

  • To provide teachers with a toolkit for further developing the workshop experience confidently

  • To give young people the opportunity to experience the social benefits of a music making project (raising self-esteem, confidence, empowering etc).

Reach: In Six days we can:

Run: 12 workshops

Enthuse: 720 young people

Inspire: 96 teachers

Feedback from our project tour in 2023:

Wherever we have gone, the children have been thoroughly absorbed throughout and have all joined in enthusiastically, even if they may have been a little nervous to start with. Lots of them have said that they have been inspired to learn an instrument after our visits, which is the VERY best feedback we could wish for.

I cannot thank you and the team enough for coming … There was a real buzz in the room which flowed into the rest of the day. They were eager to talk all about reading music notes, playing instruments, listening and dancing to different types of music. The musicians were absolutely great with the children and we all had a wonderful morning, smiles all round! Thank you!
